Okay, you think you know the story, right?

How something crashes onto a farm outside of rural Smallville. Jonathan and Martha Kent investigate and find what appears to be a spaceship.

And inside the spaceship, miraculously alive, an infant.

The childless Kents adopt the baby and bring it up as their own. They soon discover that their child has abilities beyond those of mortal men. Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Young Kent dons a costume and joins the fight for Truth, Justice, and the American Way.

Ma and Pa Kent's only child grows up and, leaving the farm for the big city, goes to work for a major Metropolitan newspaper, the Daily Planet. There, young Kent works alongside star reporter L. Lane. Kent falls for Lane, but Lane only has eyes for the costumed superhero who's apparently now set up camp in Metropolis.

Oh, and we mustn't forget Kent's lifelong nemesis, Lex Luthor. High school friend, engineering genius, financial mastermind, and the world's greatest villain.
